WARNING: We just heard that the Thurtene Carnival
will be the same weekend as the wedding. Normally it is on the
opposite side of the campus of Washington University from Graham
Chapel, but unfortunately construction has forced the carnival to move
to "our" side of campus this year. This is likely to make parking
near the chapel much more of a challenge, so you might want to give
yourself an extra 15 minutes or so to find parking.
Rehearsal dinner
The rehearsal dinner is at
Rigazzi's,
which is on "The Hill" in St. Louis.
It should start between 7:00pm and 7:30pm. Rigazzi's address is
4945 Dagget Avenue in St. Louis, and is difficult to find for the
novice St. Louis navigator. To get there, head south on Kingshighway
from I-64/US40 (or from I-44). Shortly after you cross under the I-44
bridge, you will notice Kingshighway rising to bridge some train
tracks. Stay in the far right lane that does not go onto the bridge.
It turns into a small road that will leave you under the bridge
where there will be a street you can turn right onto (Dagget). Turn
right, and Rigazzi's is one block down on the right. Their phone
number is: (314) 772-4900.
Reception
The reception will be at the
Mahler Ballroom
at 5:30pm on the day of the ceremony, where dinner and drinks will be
served. It is located at
4915 Washington
in the Central West End, just
west of Euclid on the north side of the road. Euclid is parallel to
Kingshighway, one street to the east. Parking is available at
the Trinity Church which is on Washington as well, but on the other
side of Euclid.
After about 2 miles, to continue on CA-130, you'll need to make a right turn onto Mt. Hamilton Road. There will be a sign guiding you towards Mt. Hamilton.
Continue on up Mt. Hamilton Road for almost exactly 4 miles, and you'll see the restaurant on the right side of the road overlooking Silicon Valley. Mapquest says that it's only 2.41 miles down Mt. Hamilton road, but that is incorrect. Perhaps that is as the crow flies.
